Preservation Commissions Work to Protect
Perinton & Fairport History

The community has two government organizations that work to preserve our past through designation of landmarks and historical districts. The Village of Fairport and Town of Perinton each have commissions to implement preservation laws and protect, enhance and perpetuate landmarks and historic districts in Perinton.

Perinton Historic Architecture Commission

The Town’s Perinton Historic Architecture Commission was established in 1987. For more on the Town of Perinton landmarks and historic districts visit the Town of Perinton historian.

Fairport Historic Preservation Commission

In the Village the preservation law was passed in 2007. Since the establishment of the Fairport Historic Preservation Commission, over 10 properties or structures have been designated landmarks. For more information on village landmarks and the Fairport Historic Preservation Commission.
